In their haste to get started, some people (me) throw up a site with out doing the proper keyword research. This leads to casting about for an affiliate offer that matches the site name. I have learned now, but the costs can be a bunch of useless sites that won’t even produce adsense revenue. Do the research first, find the offer, then build the site…much better.

Hey Jimvesting, I think my point was that when there aren’t any products or offers in your niche, you need to expand and think different. That’s what I was going for with the monkey example, you can’t get anything out of a dead niche, but a related niche might bear fruit.

I think that these are great tips on how to get traffic to your blog, but the title makes no sense because you never get around to how the heck you are supposed to make money if there are no products being promoted in the industry! Are you talking about trying to score money by putting Adsense Ads up on your blog? I think that is really the only way to do it without any products

Hey, the finding the niche, writing the content, getting visitors is the easy part. Its how to monetize the traffic is what gets me…

People who are involved in a specific niche are looking for things that have to do with that niche…what if your niche doesnt have any relevant offers available that are related? What if the offers that are available suck?

I have a niche site that gets about 3k unique visits a month (not much I know, but its a small niche market). I had some relevant offers that did not convert once in 6 months. In the year and half the site has been up, I have made a whopping $20 in adsense.

How about a post on how to monetize your niche market?

I have to say that I agree, most companies are impossible to contact about this sort of thing. I’ve only ever had one good (if you count being billed without your knowledge good…) experience and that was with Netflix. I had been billed 10 dollars a month for almost a year without noticing, called and said I didn’t know about the charges, didn’t use the service, and they refunded me the next day.

Taught me to actually look at my bank statements.
