Excellent experiment. I have had success with this “link bait” technique. Using key terms in the title of your post and waiting until Google OR Yahoo snatch it for indexing. Has made me over $500 with ONE post alone.

Part of this is about those “recent post” links on the side there. you have anchor text on every page of your blog promoting “download ringtones”

also, your title promotes “download ringtones the affiliate toolbox”

with a little tweaking using nofollow, you can enhance this effect.
