Recession Shmeshmession
Do you get Time? I do. I read each issue that comes out and lately, I've been reading a ton about the early quakes of the oncoming recession. We all knew this would end up happening at some point, but what's interesting is that it's happening in a country that's gone almost entirely digital. And you know what that means.
That means that folks who are digitally inclined (such as yourself) have the upper hand, especially those that wisely chose the path of the internet marketer.
People Will Still Buy
Just because there's a looming recession, people will still need products, whether they be informational or otherwise. Even when the recession turns into a depression, there will still be people buying products on the internet. My guess -- nay -- my prediction is that internet purchases will actually increase during these troubled times. So if you aren't on the affiliate marketing train, I suggest you get on and here's why.
Producers Will Feel The Pain
Those that create the products that we sell as affiliate marketers will be feeling the pain. While stock prices plummet and people begin to get laid off from their jobs, our jobs remain secured as we create business that otherwise wouldn't be there for our customers. We only get paid when sales are made. But in that weakness is our strength. Companies would be idiotic to cut their referral programs and payouts as their only overhead to us (in most cases) is generated as a result of sales we create. So fear not!
Profit From Depression
Although it sounds macabre, you can make the most out of other peoples' misery by selling them things that will help them to feel better. It's like any other campaign you'd run on any other holiday, only this holiday will most likely last longer than most and you'll actually be helping people ... for profit, of course. So I suggest you begin preparing your troops for battle (readying your campaigns) as there will be a lot of people looking for solace in times of misfortune.
Conclusion
Chances are -- not many people will care about a recession until it's too late. President Harry S. Truman once said "It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job. It's a depression when you lose your own." Luckily, we have an out this time that people didn't have before and we should take advantage of it as much as possible.
