Affiliate Marketing Forum
As most of you know, I am planning on launching a forum some time this year sooner or later, depending on what kind of feedback I get in the near future. I honestly think a specialized forum placed to help affiliate marketers get started is exactly what we need and we'll grow it from the ground up if we have to.
What I'd like to know from all of you is what you'd like to see in a forum, from what topics you'd like covered all the way down to what type of software is your favorite for this type of thing. I know vBulletin is a popular choice as it's what both Digital Point and Wicked Fire are based on. By the way, I have no intention of replacing either of them and wouldn't attempt such a feat.
However, I would like to pick up where they left off in terms of helping people. I feel that the more help we can give new affiliates, the better off they'll be as well as the community as a whole. As the blog has been growing nice and steadily, I see this as the next step to keep things fresh and keep new and interesting people coming in.
But please, don't hold back and give me your honest opinions. I do value honesty, so shoot away.
Thanks,
Scott

A forum would be great in my opinion. It would give marketers a place to talk about what strategies work and which don’t.

@Javier: Exactly what I was thinking. Glad you like the idea.

Yes, I agree that you should start a forum as it will be easier for you to manage the discussion as well

@KC Tan: Awesome. Any suggestions for it?

There are currently several forums aiming to help to the new affiliates in terms of leads or action offers across many networks such as CJ, Clickbank and Azoogleads. However, these forums charge the members for accessing the forums.
A couple of suggestions I have here is to start a forum concentrating only on the top or top two affiliate network that you are using instead of many affiliate networks (80/20 rule).
This forum can also be used to post latest offers that the new affiliates can try out. There should be another area that can only be viewed by the members where they can post their landing page for your review (or other successful affiliates).
One thing I find lacking in other forums is the cohesiveness of the community (how open they are to share and participate). Therefore, one way to be unique is to group different affiliates (in terms of niche) and have them complete against other groups for prizes or simply a free review from you - this will enable the group members to help out each other and gain popularity. - just my thoughts =)

@KC Tan: Wow, great input man. Very much appreciated.
Yeah, I’ve noticed that there are several forums similar to what I’m suggesting already out there but I don’t like them. WickedFire is pretty cool but still, it lacks the cohesiveness that you mentioned.
I also like the idea of posting new offers in the forum for both consumption and feedback. That would work out great, I think.
