Affiliate Toolbox Resolutions - 2008
I felt I should make a more official post about where we've been and more importantly -- where we're going.
The Affiliate Toolbox got a late start in 2007 (November), but made some excellent progress. Not only did we surpass 50 RSS subscribers, but it wasn't just a fluke. The number is growing and I like to think it has something to do with the quality of information we bring to you here. After all, it's not just about the money.
However, it is mostly about the money. I personally made some great strides in 2007, with my first $1,000.00 day and then later, surpassing $2,000.00. Let's hope this trend continues.
Affiliate Toolbox Resolutions for 2008
Moving on, it's time to get down to business. Although ATB had a graceful entrance, 2008 is our time to shine. Take a look at this Alexa comparison between The Affiliate Toolbox and my friend Jonathan Volk's blog here. Ignoring the Digg spike, we are slowly catching up to Volk's stats and I consider that very respectable.
On the other hand, if you take a look at this Alexa comparison between ATB, Volk's blog and Shoemoney's blog, you'll notice an enormous gap. So obviously the first goal for ATB in 2008 is to reach Shoemoney-like status traffic-wise. Next after that is reaching legendary status with RSS subscribers. And since I love our subscribers so much, I plan to start a very specialized forum to help get people started in the business. Then, well .. I'll just list the rest.
Here's the official list of ATB Resolutions/Goals for 2008:
- Reach Shoemoney-like status on Alexa (exponential increase in traffic).
- Get At Least 1000 RSS Subscribers.
- Start the ATB Forum to give specialized help to affiliates.
- Make an appearance at Pubcon 2008.
- Generate at least $2500/mo revenue from the blog alone.
- Create more community-friendly events, such as contests and polls.
- Provide actual tutorials and tools that are useful to you affiliates.
- Have an occasional guest post to change things up.
- Feature success stories from people who felt ATB helped them succeed.
- Make ATB ubiquitous among affiliate marketers.
So how do you plan to accomplish all this?
Well, of course, with help from all you awesome people! A blog is only as good as the people who read it. What better way to show your support than to stay posted on all of our uber-interesting posts? You can do just that by subscribing to the RSS feed or the RSS Email on the sidebar. Additionally, I plan to create some banners people can use to link to us.
On top of all of this, it is of utmost importance that you leave comments if you have questions or something to say in general. The idea behind this blog is to help people, so if you have a question, chances are someone else will as well. So please, don't be shy.
So far, we have an average of 4 comments per post, so let's keep it on the rise.
Conclusion
I have a really good feeling about 2008. This is going to be a great year for us and making money in general. So good luck to you and everyone this year. Let's make the magic happen.

Hi mate,
I hope you reach those goals. I’ve made my first $3400 a day! Obviously, it doesn’t happen every day…
You gave me inspiration to write about what I’v done in 2007. (I’ve been lazy updating the blog lately)
Ok, I am going to make a post.
Thanks for the motivation.
Franck.

@Chris: Thanks! Haha.. yeah. Number nine would be great.
@Franck: Nice! $3400 in a day is pretty damn sweet, especially if it doesn’t involve ring tones. Good luck on your post.
