Do I Need A Landing Page For Affiliate Marketing?
This must be one of the most frequent questions I get asked. The short answer is no. You don't technically need a landing page to be successful with affiliate marketing. Overall, you basically just need a referral link to send traffic to in order for your sales to get tracked properly. If you had a mailing list of 10,000 people that you just sent different referral links to each day, you would never need a landing page.
So when do you need landing pages? When you're dealing with search engines, landing pages become a necessity. Not only for PPC (Pay Per Click) traffic, but for organic traffic as well. Trust me, your referral (jump) links are extremely difficult to get indexed on Google. Sure, you might be able to get a referral link to work for a while on AdWords or YSM for PPC, but eventually they'll filter your ads out and you'll notice all your traffic has gone.
When you have a website you can send traffic to, even if you're paying for that traffic, inevitably other people will find it interesting and link to it. Search engines will index it and you'll start getting a small stream of traffic just from people searching for things related to your site (once you've optimized it properly for search engines, that is).
Amazing, huh? On top of that, you have the power to change the text on that web site. You can inform the customer of your personal experience and presell them before they even get to the product page. It gives you a voice in the transaction and a bit more control.
Not only that, but you're able to collect emails if you use a service like Aweber and you can build that aforementioned mailing list to continue marketing to people long into your golden years.
So while you may not need that web site to have a successful affiliate marketing business, I definitely urge and recommend you to use one.

Again, what a wonderful information packed post about affiliate marketing!
I myself have always been confused of when to direct link, redirect, and when to iFrame!
I would have to agree, landing pages are a necessity when dealing with PPC to get a good Quality Score and to steer away from any PPC guidelines that may effect your bids and flow of traffic!
+1Gigg from me! =D
