NeverblueAds.com - Diamond in the Rough?

Written by Scott Weaver

When I originally signed up with AzoogleAds, I had been with ClickBank for about a month and immediately, I was drawn to Azoogle's cleaner interface and the idea of having a personal affiliate manager. Not that I'd ever stop using ClickBank as they do provide a customer experience that is unique, but I was definitely more impressed with Azoogle. What I found most impressive about Azoogle was that I was able to tap into their reports remotely with their API (a secure way of interfacing with their server).

Fast forward eight months and I joined ranks with NeverblueAds on the advice of a friend. Immediately, I had that familiar feeling of being impressed. They were prompt with my confirmation phone call to activate my account and my new affiliate manager was friendly and open to intelligent banter. My Azoogle manager will forever hold a place in my heart, but I figured it wasn't a bad idea to broaden my horizons.

Once my account was activated with Neverblue, I logged in and right away felt as if it were a design I would come up with, so as you might imagine I was very comfortable. There was a search box right before my eyes and a handy graph on the right to tell me how my monthly sales are doing, plus up to the minute updates. Very slick.

Do I Need A Landing Page For Affiliate Marketing?

Written by Scott Weaver

This must be one of the most frequent questions I get asked. The short answer is no. You don't technically need a landing page to be successful with affiliate marketing. Overall, you basically just need a referral link to send traffic to in order for your sales to get tracked properly. If you had a mailing list of 10,000 people that you just sent different referral links to each day, you would never need a landing page.

So when do you need landing pages? When you're dealing with search engines, landing pages become a necessity. Not only for PPC (Pay Per Click) traffic, but for organic traffic as well. Trust me, your referral (jump) links are extremely difficult to get indexed on Google. Sure, you might be able to get a referral link to work for a while on AdWords or YSM for PPC, but eventually they'll filter your ads out and you'll notice all your traffic has gone.

When you have a website you can send traffic to, even if Read More »

Why People Fail At Affiliate Marketing

Written by Scott Weaver

For every person I've talked to that is successful at all with affiliate marketing, there are probably nine others that are either in the red or failing. I know, not just from talking to people, but from my own personal experience that it's likely you'll fail your first couple of times around in the Affiliate Marketing game. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule and there will be those that inevitably take to the business like a fish to water, but this article isn't for those people.

The intention here is to save people before they throw up a white flag and go back to their jobs with their heads hung low.

First and foremost, let's get one myth out of the way: you will not get rich quick with affiliate marketing. In most cases, it is either supplemental to or a replacement for a regular job. Yes, you might make more money doing it and you'll have more freedom doing so, but it's a long, arduous journey to actually call yourself 'rich.' When I started affiliate marketing, my initial goal was (besides making a single sale) to generate a steady $100/day. It took me 5 months working 14+ hour days to reach that goal. That is by no means rich and by no means quick; it's actually quite slow but at least I was turning a small profit from it. I was spending about $50+/day at the time which seems trivial now, but at the time, seemed like a ton. It wasn't easy to keep pushing forward. In fact, at one point, I was failing so bad and spending $150+/day to the point where I just abruptly stopped and let everything stabilize. It was scary.

How Much Should You Bid?

Written by Scott Weaver

When setting your max bid price on ad networks like Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing or Microsoft AdCenter, it's best to know how much you're getting in return (profit) before you settle on a number. If you bid too high, you might get more sales but still be in the red. If you bid too low, you might make an okay profit but less conversions. The trick is to find just the right number and that takes time and finesse but here's a quick way to determine what your max bid should be.

In general, the formula I use for determining max bid is basically this:

((ecpc * (1 - bounce rate)) - 0.01)

So if your ecpc is $0.75 and your bounce rate is 40%, that means you really generate $0.45 ecpc. Subtract $0.01 from that ($0.44 ecpc) and you'll have a very safe maximum to set your keyword bids at. Read More »

How to Cloak Your Affiliate Links

Written by Scott Weaver

Have you ever visited a landing page and thought "holy hell, those affiliate links are just painfully obvious!" ? Well, I have. So I thought I'd create a post to let you know how to cloak your links so they at least aren't so obvious.

Requirements

  • PHP
  • Apache
  • Affiliate Link

Description

What you're going to do is create a couple of lines (if they don't exist already) in your .htaccess file. Then you're going to create a PHP file that the lines will point to and then you'll create your links. Easy as pie.

Quick Tips for Maintaining Your Affiliate Marketing Business

Written by Scott Weaver

Affiliate marketing programs (where you share revenue with affiliate networks while promoting their partner websites) are a great way to make extra money and crucial business connections in the Internet business world.

A common scenario with affiliate programs is early success, followed by a bust. There are always unpredictable scenarios that can occur, even though you have been participating successfully in an affiliate program for what seems like forever.

While there are a great deal of positives involved with running an affiliate business from the comfort of your own home, there can also be problems for someone who is less experienced. Luckily, this article will point you in the right direction to avoid such pitfalls.

How To Make Your First $1 On Azoogle

Written by Scott Weaver

Recently, I created a post on Digital Point Forums in order to help those that are either new to Azoogle or those that are frustrated and need a little guidance to make their first dollar. In general, people seem to be having a lot of difficulty getting their campaigns off the ground, so I thought I'd help anyone with this problem out and give them a little push in the right direction.

First off, you should register with AzoogleAds if you haven't already. Next, you should get very familiar with the interface. Once you've checked both these things off your list, it's time to choose your offer(s).

Choosing Offers

Choosing the right product is probably the second hardest part of affiliate marketing, next to advertising. There's definitely no right answer when it comes to choosing products, and in general, I like to test every product I come across. Honestly, that's the best way to determine which products actually work for you to sell. Just think, if you could test every product you saw, you might find just 5 that convert profitably and you'd already be in business.

How to Get Started with Azoogle

Written by Scott Weaver

AzoogleAds is one of the best Ad Networks on the internet today. Online since 2000, they're essentially the leaders of the cost-per-action internet marketing movement. Not only do they have a lot of offers, but their offers are highly competitive. On top of that, they set you up with an affiliate manager who will help you choose and manage your offers. Your affiliate manager's main goal is for you to earn money, so make sure you take advantage of their presence. But don't settle for just any affiliate manager.

When I first signed up with Azoogle, I had an OK affiliate manager that tried to help me earn money on some of my websites that already had traffic but I was still not seeing any significant change. Then a friend of mine referred me to a great affiliate manager that has helped me out tremendously. So just be aware that you aren't stuck with an affiliate manager once you're assigned.

Now before we go any further, make sure you click on the following link and register yourself with AzoogleAds:

Why Use Tracking Code

Written by Scott Weaver

One of the best ways to decrease your ad spending and increase your overall profit margin with your landing pages is to use the right kind of tracking. Tracking how your customers got from point a to z (a being a search and z being a sale) will help you to determine which parts of your process can be left alone, tweaked or removed. So if you're worried about budget or just want to increase profit, pay close attention.

Here's an example of how you might use tracking to your advantage. If you have 100 keywords, chances are that about 1-5% of them are going to convert most of the time and the rest are just going to eat up your budget that would otherwise be spent making you more money. So after using the methods found in this previous post "How to Put Tracking Code on Your Landing Page.", you'll find out which keywords convert. After about a week of testing or about 1000-3000 clicks, you'll be able to tell which of your keywords convert all the time, some of the time and none of the time.
